Solar System Exploration 2 Wiki

Callisto is one of the Galilean moons and the home of the Galilean Squids. Their ships are the only sources of the Alien Hull and Alien Fuselage. Callisto's surface has an outpost as well as holed out entrances, where one of the Galileans can be found (the squid was formerly the guardsman at the elevator). Beneath the surface is a giant city in a hollowed-out Callisto, which houses skyscrapers, parking lots, and the government building where you can talk to Saffra.

Appearance[]

Callisto's outer crust, while being slightly more distinct than most other moons, is still quite uninteresting, although there is a distinct pattern of materials on the surface. The surface appearance is similar to Haumea.

Invasion[]

An alien invasion can be activated by dropping a nuke on Callisto, and then the harbored Mothership will become active, bombard Mars with spaceships, and destroy the capability of players to launch into space. If Earth still exists, it will first go there and freeze the Earth, which causes an ending if nowhere else is habitable. Alternatively, placing too many drills on the surface will spawn a different form of ship, which is known as the Siphoning Ship. It does not have as much weaponry but will drain Earth of its water. It also has it's own sphere of influence, though it is very weak.

Colonization[]

Callisto, unlike most other moons, has all 3 natural resources (metal, water, and natural gas), making it able to easily sustain a colony, though if Earth has not been destroyed and no planets or moons are terraformed and colonized, placing 4 or more drills could result in a swift end to the server due to the Siphoning Ship.

Uses[]

Callisto has 2 major uses, the first being to end the server, and the second being to get the Alien Processer.

To kill the server, you must first

- Summon the mothership/siphoning ship. (The siphoning ship is faster, as getting the nuke requires returning to earth.)

- Ensure there are no colonies on other planets.

- Optionally - Create as much lag as possible by terraforming a body such as titan with many terraformers (20+) to stop ships from moving far.

The Alien Processer is used for a few things, mainly the creation of the Warp Core and the Drive.

To get the processer, you must first enter the city in Callisto, then go to the government-looking building.

Interact with Saffra, and say this exactly:

- What is this place?

- Yeah, a bit rude of me.

-I'm here to broker a deal.

-I found a shiny thing! - You need to be holding a "shiny" rock, said rocks being Shockstone, Moonstone, or a Core Rock.

To use the alien processer, you must first place it somewhere. Where you place it should be easily accessible, or in a tactically positioned place.

You have to first get either Ball Lightning or Red Matter, which is found by:

- BL - Exploding explosive charges on Umbriel, moon of Uranus, or on Thoth, the sole dwarf planet of Proxima Centauri, at a 1/7 chance.

- RM - Exploding charges on one of these 4 Saturnian Moons: Iapetus, Dione, Tethys, or Rhea, also at a 1/7 chance. The moon is randomized every server, and it can be a completely different one if you just join another one. Nephthys is guaranteed to have red matter, but there is no use for it as the game is discontinued & you lose your ship and materials on the way back from Proxima. I guess if you want to look cool while leaving the game that works.

Ball Lightning may be useful to get drives, which are the best engine in the game, and great for their deceleration capabilities, as they stop mid-air if turned off/on, ignoring velocity and giving you time to turn on a station core for example.

Red Matter is used for getting a Warp Core, which allows travel to the Proxima Centauri system, if 880 kph of speed is reached.

I've heard some people have issues with actually using the processer to make items, so if you walk into the green part of the processer, whilst holding said item, it'll dispense your processed item which you can add to your ship. Based on my studies, I do not believe that those parts despawn.

Trivia[]

  • The old building for where Saffra used to reside still exists, however it's underneath the core and unreachable.
  • The Alien Processer is set to be used by anyone at default, and isn't destroyed upon game exit.
