The **Dome** is a blueprint structure that allows players to create habitable areas on uninhabitable celestial bodies. Once supplied with Water, it provides **oxygen**, allows **spawning**, and can produce **Air Tanks** for survival in space environments.
You can obtain it by: - Crafting in a Factory using 500 Metal - Purchasing from Koller or Rico for $500
Usage[]
When placed and supplied with Water, the Dome acts as a life-support environment. It is essential for:
- **Breathable air** on moons and planets without atmospheres
- Setting up **spawn points** in space or on unterraformed bodies
- Producing **Air Tanks**, necessary for surviving extended periods outside the dome
Note: Domes must be connected to an **Electrolyzer** to generate air using water. Without water or power, the dome will not function.
Appearance[]
New Version[]
The modern Dome features a large orange hemisphere mounted on a grey concrete base. Inside, **grass** covers the floor, simulating a livable ecosystem. The Dome has:
- A front **door entrance**
- Three **pipes** connecting it to an Electrolyzer (one of which faces away)
- A **ramp** leading into the structure
- **Trusses** under the foundation that embed into terrain when placed
Old Version[]
The older dome model was significantly larger. It featured:
- A massive orange sphere on top
- Entry **trusses** at the front
- A grey foundation similar to the current version, but scaled up
Trivia[]
- There is no limit to how many domes you can place on a celestial body—you can theoretically **cover an entire planet**.
- Domes are popular for **moon-catching**. For example, on Mars, if a knocked-out moon (like Phobos or Deimos) lands on domes instead of the surface, it appears as if you've **“caught”** the moon.
- Domes can be placed **anywhere**—**except Earth**, which prohibits structure placement.
- Although they produce air and allow spawns, **Domes alone don’t terraform** planets; they only simulate habitable conditions inside.
- Domes are often used in conjunction with **Factories** and **Electrolyzers** to create fully self-sustaining space colonies.
