Eric was one of the first NPCs to be added to the game, alongside Koller. He runs the Pawn Shop on North America, where players can sell rocks and purchase tools.

Insanity[]
Eric is unable to meaningfully cope with the inevitable Nibiru cataclysm. As Nibiru encroaches on the Earth, he grows increasingly insane.
28.1 Radii from impact[]
Eric changes his shop from "Open all week" to "Closed Sunday" (possibly the day after Nibiru impacts Earth).
13.7/13 Radii from impact[]
Eric puts the first poster on his wall which shows all the countries of the world with an Alphium logo for the bluish countries (which is a reference to Sidereal Expedition, Alphium's older game). Eric shortly places another poster behind him which shows how Nibiru will change Earth's tilt as it passes by.
10.7/10.4 Radii from impact[]
Eric places the first board on his shop window, shortly after that he places another.
10 Radii from impact[]
Eric places yet another poster on the front of his shop that says "THIS IS HIS WILL, NO POINT RESISTIN!" with an image of Nibiru, signifying that Eric sees Nibiru as divine retribution.
9/8.9 Radii from impact[]
Eric places yet another board on his shop window, then he places a poster inside his shop that shows a hypothetical render of the rogue planet colliding with Earth.
7.9 Radii from impact[]
Eric places the final board on his window.
4 Radii from impact (The final minutes)[]
Eric starts to get a worried expression on his face, however Koller is still smiling, as The Moon has not yet been destroyed.
2.2 Radii from impact (Moon destruction)[]
Eric turns pale and changes his shop name to "THE WATCH TOWER." Eric is now frowning.
0.5 Radii from impact[]
Eric shaves the top of his head bald, no new changes happen after that.
-0.2 Radii from impact (Nibiru Collision)[]
Eric (and the rest of the NPCs) vanish. Earth is now destroyed, and Eric has died. However, that may be not true.
Trivia[]
- Eric seems to perceive Nibiru as the harbinger of doomsday.
- After Nibiru collides with Earth, once half of the earth (and the water) start to disappear, all the NPCs on earth also disappear.
- In the April fool's update of SSE2, this doesn't happen (due to the changed terrain) Alphium said that she couldn't make Nibiru destroy Earth in this update so they stay.
- Apparently at 0.1 Radii Eric disappears and leaves a note that says "DON'T LOOK FOR ME" as he changes his shop from "Closed Sunday" to "You all had your chance." But after trying to get this to happen, he and his shop disappears before he goes into this state.
Other Appearances[]
Solar System Exploration featured a shopkeeper which shared a similar role to Eric. He would sell a blueprint for building a dome, which was a prerequisite to colonizing Mars.
