Solar System Exploration 2 Wiki

Rocks mostly refer to items that can be picked up, with some rocks being able to be sold to Eric or Stoffschild on Earth for money, put into a Macerator for metal, or put into an Alien Processor for special parts. Some rocks can also be objects that can only be picked up by the Claw.

Moonstone[]

1

Moonstone

Also referred to as the Moon Rock, these spawn constantly on the the Moon. They are large, irregular nodules of dark glass. They can be sold to Eric or Stoffschild for $350, usually providing players with their first source of income. You can also bring this to Saffra, and she will give you a Alien Processor. Moonstones have a unique carrying limit; a player can only carry 3 moonstones at any time.

Mars Rock[]

5

Mars rock

Mars rocks are large chunks of the iron-rich Martian surface that are ejected upon the detonation of an Explosive Charge. They can be sold for $200. Theres a chance that 2 Mars rocks can come out from one single explosive, Mars rock's are a decent source of cash due to their high abundance. The only risk is that detonating an explosive on Mars has a 1/100 chance of spawning a sand leech. Mars rocks can be converted to 200 metal with a Macerator but isn't recommended as there is already a good amount of metal on Mars.

Mercury Rock[]

3

Mercury rock

These rocks can be excavated from Mercury with the use of explosives. They are worth $300 per rock or 250 metal. These rocks are found on the upper layers of Mercury.

Core Rock[]

4

Core rock

Similar to the Mercury Rock, these can be excavated from Mercury with the use of explosives. The core of Mercury, when detonated, will be more likely to release this type of rock instead of the Mercury rock. Worth $300 per rock or 250 metal. This can be given to Saffra for Alien Processor. It's perhaps the worst way to gain money in the game.

Shockstone[]

Shockstone

RainbowShockstones

Differently colored shockstones on Alcaeus.

A bright-colored, spiky rock that is worth an impressive $2000 per rock or 2000 metal. This can be given to Saffra for a Alien Processor They form on Alcaeus, similar to moonstones, in faults and cracks.

Additionally, shockstones form on Miranda every thirty to sixty seconds. An explosion occurs and a loud sound plays, leaving behind the stone. Shockstones are guaranteed to be cyan like Uranus when formed. Shockstones that form on Alcaeus can be other colors than the light blue color of the ones on Miranda. There is an extremely small chance if you explode Miranda, it drops a crimson-colored Shockstone. It's the same stats as a normal Shockstone.

Meteoric Iron[]

Bad cutout

Meteoric iron

Similar in appearance to the Core Rock but cannot be sold on Earth. Its only use is being converted to metal in a Macerator. It can only be obtained through jackhammering metallic asteroids. It was added in the 20.3 Mini-Update alongside Cometary Ice. you can also move and capture both asteroids and comets using the claw.

Cometary Ice[]

6

Cometary ice

Similar to Meteoric Iron, except it is jackhammered from comets instead of asteroids. Can be put in a Macerator to yield water, with one cometary ice yielding 2000 water.
