Solar System Exploration 2 Wiki

Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and is positioned quite far from other planets. It possesses seven moons, formerly tied with Uranus for most moons. Saturn itself isn't very notable aside from its rings.

Moons[]

The moons of Saturn are dispersed around the side facing the Earth. They are composed of smooth terrain, featuring nothing particularly special (unless it's Titan or Iapetus). The vast majority of these moons have terrible gravity, and you won't be recaptured on any of them except Titan. Saturn has the most moons of any planet in the game. Only three of its moons belong to other teams.

Mimas[]

"That's no moon"

Contrary to popular belief, in game Mimas doesn't have a large crater like the one Tethys possesses as opposed to real life. Not a very good basing location due to having the lowest gravity in-game, has no gas like the other moons.

Enceladus[]

"Ponder the tiger stripes"

It has an icy surface and it is one of two objects in the solar system that has Cryovolcanoes. It has no gas. Similar to Miranda in gravity, but we don't suggest going here if you want to try and colonize it. It is hollow, similar to terraformed Titan.

Tethys[]

"Rather unremarkable, isn't it?"

Grey ball composed of rock and ice. It is home to the largest crater in the Solar System, though it's not interesting in anything else. It has no gas, like most other Saturnian moons, but it is very close to Titan.

Dione[]

"Rather unremarkable, isn't it?"

Dione is an uninteresting grey ball, although it is composed of a high amount of water, it doesnt have gas, unless you use a depot chain (or junction) to deliver gas.

Rhea[]

"Rather unremarkable, isn't it?"

Rhea, like Dione, is an uninteresting grey ball, although metal can be more commonly found there. It has no obtainable gas on the planet.

Rhea belongs to the Rogue team, despite being a Saturnian moon.

Titan[]

"Flap your hands and fly"

The most popular Saturnian moon and one of the best basing locations in the game. Very high amounts of metal, water, and gas. It is also the only Saturnian moon that has the gravity to recapture you. Titan can also be terraformed, in which its surface will turned into a "salt atmosphere" and the methane oceans disappear , leaving Titan with an exposed core and floating surface. It's also a very strategic point in terms of colonizing, it is near to most moons/dwarf planets on the outer solar system.

Iapetus[]

"Don't let the black-and-white become a trend"

Iapetus, for the most part, is an uninteresting grey ball, although half of it is in a different material. One of the more notable things here is the trans-flag found on its surface. Attempting to place an explosive charge on top of it will result in the "Transphobe Launcher" throwing you directly into the sun. It has no gas.

Iapetus has its own team, named after itself, and is not included in the Inner Saturnian Moons team. The team color is pink.
