The Siphoning Ship is a large alien ship originating from Galilean Squids. It appears inside Callisto and is activated by placing 4+ Drills anywhere on the surface. It doesn't deploy any weapons, nor have anything that can kill the player, but it causes an ending. Both the Mothership and the Siphoning ship can be activated together.
Appearance[]
The Siphoning Ship consists of a large cylinder featuring a siphon at the front, which is used for draining Earth's entire water supply. At the back, it is equipped with 4 engines. Inside the cylinder, there is most likely the command pod or probe core, if the ship is manned at all. Additionally, the interior presumably houses fuel and water tanks for the engines, as well as storage for the water collected by the siphon.
Strategy to Destroy the Server[]
Preparations[]
Bringing the Siphoning Ship to Earth before anyone manages to make a Spawn on another world is the most effective way of intentionally ending a server.
The most effective way to achieve this is to firstly set up a private base on Mars along with a refuel station. If you wish is to destroy the server, make sure to not set your factories to public or someone might use them for colonization. The most effective way to do this from the start is go to Miranda and grab as many Shockstones as you can, then sell them on Earth. Make sure to buy one factory, one drill and a pickaxe (at least 5000 cash is needed). Consider getting air tanks.
While it is possible to technically just buy 4 drills straight from the shop after getting money and then fly directly to Callisto, you still have to guide the ship to Earth, so this quick method is not always recommended on larger servers.
After that, go to Mars and find a place with at least Medium metal levels with your pickaxe. Then, place a drill there and activate it. Connect it to a factory and save up for a pumpjack. Find a spot with Natural Gas and place your pumpjack there. Save up again for a mill and connect it to the drill and the pumpjack. Make a ship equipped with Spike Engines, they will be extremely useful. A dome might also be useful for long-run operation on Mars without terraforming it.
Activating the Siphoning Ship[]
When you are ready, save up for 4 drills from your base. Fly to Callisto and place your drills on the surface, then activate them. You should hear a thud from a distance. A large, circular hole will appear and the Siphoning Ship will fly out of it. It will then turn around and move to another position, from which it will proceed to fly towards Earth. Usually, this is really buggy and the ship might sometimes get stuck at this stage, preventing it from reaching Earth.
If you manage to get the ship to fly away from Callisto in the direction of Earth, keep following it to speed up the process. The ship usually moves quite fast when someone goes close to it, so Spike Engines are recommended, along with clean fuel tanks. The ship follows the same path as the Mothership, however way faster. It will pass Ganymede and Mars firstly before arriving at Earth. This is the most risky stage of your action as the ship is huge and will be noticed by other players. In fact, the ship will pass very close to Mars's sunny side, alerting almost everyone present on Mars. However at this stage, evacuating Earth is useless. When the ship arrives on Earth, it will halt and move into a position over Hawaii. This will take some time, but after that it will extend it's tube and proceed to suck Earth's oceans. This will also take a lot of time before the ending is reached.
The Siphoning Ship Approaches[]
At this point, almost everyone on the server will know what is happening, as the ship is visible from Earth's spawn. If people are aware of the nature of the alien craft, they will attempt to destroy it at all costs. If they did not obtain any money at this stage, not much can be done in time to prevent the disaster. If the ship manages to suck most of the oceans before it is destroyed (and no other worlds have a spawn on them), the game will trigger an ending. If the ship is destroyed before it triggers the ending, it can't be spawned again.
If Earth is destroyed and Siphoning Ship is activated, It will position itself around Callisto and stop moving, or go to Earth's position and stay there.
Defending Earth[]
If you see someone triggering the ship or it being on it's way, and another base has not been set up on another planet yet, immediately alert everyone on the server and buy/make Explosive Charges (4-5 should destroy it). Wait for the ship to arrive on Earth and when it positions itself in it's fixed spot, fly up to it and place as many explosives as you can on it's surface. Be careful not to glitch them. If you succeed, the water on Earth should stop lowering it's level. The ship will then freeze for a few moments and collapse. The drained water will not be restored. If the ship got activated with another base set up already, it will not trigger the ending, as such it is not of huge concern. The Siphoning Ship and pretty much any other entity that moves is really slow if no players are near it, even if one player is near it they have to guide it
