A Sphere of Influence, or SOI, in space terms, is an area around a celestial body in which the gravity of the body is stronger than the gravity of all other bodies. In SSE2, the Sphere of Influence was added on September 18th.

Functionality[]
The sphere of influence attracts you to one object, completely nullifying the gravitational effects of other objects.
You can only be attracted to an object once you enter its sphere of influence.
Trivia[]
- When you go away from an planet,gravity gets weaker. This is because in real life gravity weakens when you go away from an celestial object.
- If a player gets to the very center of an celestial object, you wouldn't be able to escape even with a jetpack due to gravity, and abrupt camera rotating. Different scenario is that you would get flung out of solar system because the gravity becomes infinitely stronger.
