The Red Planet is the tutorial analogue of Mars, situated within said tutorial's own system. It is almost completely barren, being simply a reddish-orange high-quality sphere. It cannot be terraformed as there are no terraformers in the tutorial. Its most prominent feature is a raised platform with metal, the only resources on the planet and by extension the system, where the user is encouraged to prospect and place a drill/factory on. This planet has breathable air like every other object in the tutorial system, despite lacking a visible atmosphere.
Appearance[]
The Red Planet is a mesh-based planet with an extremely simple appearance: a smooth reddish-orange sphere with a baseplate texture and no visible atmosphere. It has a small raised platform, which has an abundance of metal (which is the only resource in the tutorial) and can be drilled. Other than that, the planet is completely flat and devoid of surface features, and lacks any resources whatsoever.
Purpose[]
The Red Planet is an extremely simplified version of Mars, designed to introduce the basic idea of colonizing planets: prospect for metal, place a drill on very high metal, and connect it to a factory. Notably, there is no mention of terraforming or spawns, which are also vital to colonizing, although this may simply be because of how outdated the tutorial has become, or it could be intentionally withheld from the player.
Moons (or lack thereof)[]
The Red Planet appears to lack any objects similar to Phobos or Deimos in its orbit. This may be either, again, due to being outdated, or because they would serve no purpose in the tutorial. Alcaeus is not required in the tutorial for anything - money already can be attained via Moonstones and the Red Planet can be colonized - so it simply does not need to exist.
