Solar System Exploration 2 Wiki

Tutorial Earth is one of two planets in the Tutorial System, and the starting planet of the tutorial. It is a stand-in for the actual Earth, being heavily simplified into a mostly barren green sphere to help streamline the tutorial. It has one moon, that being the Tutorial moon.

Appearance[]

Tutorial Earth, much like the other two tutorial objects, is simply a high-poly sphere mesh. It is green and appears to have a grid texture. There is a giant grey brick wall dividing the planet into two halves. The plot and Eric's shop are clearly visible from space, owing mostly to the planet being a quarter the size of the real Earth.

Purpose[]

Tutorial Earth is a heavily simplified version of the main-game Earth, meant to familiarise players with the base mechanics of the game, like building and flying ships, selling rocks for money, buying structures with that money, etc.

Tutorial Moon[]

Tutorial Moon is the only satellite of Tutorial Earth, and shares a similar appearance, being a barren grey sphere. It occasionally spawns moonstones, which can be collected and sold as part of the tutorial.

Trivia[]

  • Originally, Tutorial Earth only had the spawn pad and a shack on its surface. However, in Release 20, a plot, the wall, and NPCs were added.
  • There are a few differences in the tutorial, the main ones being:
    • The hammer and saw are in the wrong order.
    • Parts cannot be moved around by the hammer, only attached to another part.
    • The sign on Eric's shop seems to be missing.
    • Material boxes still exist.
    • Drills still use their old model.
  • Tutorial Earth is the first variation of Earth to be created (the second being Flat Earth from the April Fools update).
